care to fit each quest to their kayak from our extensive fleet of kayaks providing comfort
& performance for all paddling interest & ability. |
| Basic Paddle Strokes: |

Forward Stroke,
Reverse Stroke, Turning Strokes ( forward & reverse sweep) |

Advanced Strokes
are demonstrated: High Brace, Low Brace, Draw Stroke |
| How to use Rudder or Skeg: |
|
Paddling with the aid of a rudder is useful when wind &
tides dictate & if preferred, instruction
in kayak with skeg can be arranged. |
Kayak instruction includes paddle
through the neighboring EBF Wildlife Refuge |
There are two times
for the Introduction to Kayak program: 1 1/2 & 2 1/2 hrs
The 1 1/2 hr program provides the same level
of instruction as the 2 1/2 hr program,
just 1 hr shorter. The 1 1/2 hr program was developed for families with
children and for those desiring a shorter experience & for cost savings.
The pricing is also based on a sliding
scale depending on the amount in the group.
Unless private or semi-private instruction /
tour is desired, we make every attempt to schedule small intimate groups with similar
interest & abilities & for cost savings to all. |

time, a wet exit for confidence of control exit from kayak
in the event of capsize. |

Rolling mechanics...the setup, sweep, and hip snap recovery |

program including Basic, Beyond the Basic & Rescue Classes for those seeking a
complete exposure to sea kayak touring. New Jersey Kayak's Bootcamp will provide
guest with all the skills necessary to navigate their own sea touring kayak.
